This series of three introductory sketching classes provides the essentials of freehand sketching for students, age 12-18. It is recommended that students take all three classes for optimal experience. The first sketching course, Seeing Things Differently: the Short Course in Sketching teaches the learner how to sketch any object through the skill of observation. The second course is, Let’s Sketch Birds and Animals.  The final class Let’s Sketch at the Zoo, which will require meeting at the Chahinkapa Zoo to learn how to sketch animals in motion through the art of gestural sketching. Class size is limited to 12 and students must pre-register with a $10 payment for each course to reserve a spot in the course. Students must provide their own sketchbook (at least 9″x12″), a No. 2 drawing pencil, eraser, and a pencil sharpener. This grant-funded opportunity allows the Red Door Art Gallery to offer an affordable experience with a qualified teacher to impact the lives of teenagers through the art of sketching.

Save these dates and sign up early for workshops!

We look forward to seeing you soon!- Barbara and Beverly
